The aim of the journal “Demography and Social Economy” is to present and disseminate the results of contemporary scientific research in the fields of demography and socio-economics, with a particular focus on current issues related to ensuring the quality of life of the population.

The journal publishes theoretical, methodological, and applied studies devoted to the analysis of fertility, mortality, migration, family transformations, the socio-demographic structure of the population, sustainable development, the material well-being of the population, social inequality and stratification of society, poverty, social protection, accessibility of social services, labor market issues, as well as social and demographic policy.

It also addresses the economic aspects of demographic change, including issues related to pension systems, social security, and the impact of demographic dynamics on economic growth and financial stability.

The journal’s publications aim to foster scientific discourse at the intersection of demography, economics, and quality-of-life studies, as well as to promote the use of research findings in the development of effective socio-economic and demographic policies.

The journal is published four times annually according to the letter of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine № 5680/3070-33-20/19.3.2 as of February 6, 2020 about the registration of the permit in the State Register of print media and news agencies as subjects of information activity.

Articles are published in Ukrainian and English (according to the author's original text) and have annotations in two listed languages.

On February 13, 2009, the journal "Demography and Social Economy" was assigned the International Standard Serial Number for paper version ISSN 2072-9480 (Print); in 2013 – for the electronic version ISSN 2309-2351 (Online).

According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 02.07.2020 № 886 scientific journal "Demography and Social Economy" is included in the Register of scientific professional publications of Ukraine (category "B").

Results of dissertation research for obtaining the scientific degrees of Doctor of Sciences and Candidate of Sciences may be published in the journal within the cluster “Economic Transformations, Business and Administration”, and in the following specialties:
