EVOLUTION OF HOUSING CONDITIONS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL CHANGES
Section: RESEARCHS OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS
Language: Ukrainian
Abstract: The article explores the interrelation between social processes and housing conditions, as one of the components of
the level and quality of life of the population. It has been revealed that among the whole variety of social interactions,
only those in which the transformation of a person’s worldview takes place and their needs are modified (first
and foremost, the basic needs, which also include housing) are a decisive factor in the development of housing
and living conditions. Gradual complication of common forms, technologies of construction, zoning of premises,
decoration of amenities, internal and external arrangement of houses and adjoining territory, transformed the
concept of «living conditions». Today, housing conditions are perceived not as separate quantitative - qualitative
characteristics of the living space, but as a set of elements (individual dwelling, adjoining territory, residential
quarter, district, settlement), helping a person to realize their social essence. The transformation of quantitative
and qualitative characteristics of housing, formation of standards of living conditions under the influence of such
fundamental social processes as socialization, structural changes in social groups, mobility, as well as one of the
most significant in the life of a modern society – urbanization – have been analyzed. It was found that all social
processes selected for research had a significant impact on the formation of various aspects of living conditions,
but in different periods of human development the importance of their influence varied. Selected for research,
social processes were divided into three main groups on the degree of impact on the formation of modern standards
of housing. In the course of the study it was revealed that stratification, social mobility and urbanization have
a significant impact on the formation of modern standards of housing conditions and their further development.
It was proposed to take into account the social processes in the country as a measure of social development by
ensuring decent living conditions for the population within the framework of solving the housing problem in
Ukraine and building an effective state housing policy.
Key words: housing, housing conditions, social processes, socialization, stratification, social mobility, structural
changes in the social group, urbanization.
