MOTIVATION OF RESIDENCE IN RURAL SETTLEMENTS OF UKRAINE
Section: POPULATION LIVING STANDARDS AND LABOR MARKET
Language: Ukrainian
Abstract: Theoretical researches of motivation are generalized in the context of residence. Theoretical principles of motivation
of residence are improved in rural settlements on the basis of theory of social territorial behavior. The system
of factors of endogenous, exogenous and situational influence on it is offered. An estimation of the habitat on
the basis of deprivation in the context of villages and cities is found and the differences that affect the motivation
of residence are revealed. It is confirmed that motivational factors of residence in rural settlements are formed
in the conditions of inter settlement, regional and territorial differentiation of socio-economic development of
the country. It was found that the motivation of residence is formed due to the territorial reflection in which the
mismatch of opportunities for satisfying needs in different territories is a strong incentive to move. It is revealed
that the demotivating preconditions for residing in rural settlements at the present stage of its development are
scarcity of local labor markets, the existence of pronounced deprivation in ensuring territorial accessibility to
social services, low development of transport and logistics of passenger transportations. However, the country is
characterized by low activity of the population in search of new economic opportunities associated with changing
the place of residence. The system of types (territorial availability, material well-being, participation, realization,
balance of possibilities) and ways(territorial reflection, behavioral patterns, strategy of social territorial
behavior)of formation of motives of habitation formation is substantiated. The necessity of taking into account
the motivational aspect of residence in improving the effectiveness of rural development policy and the directions
of its improvement aimed at increasing the territorial mobility of the rural population, application of alternative
drivers of local development, promotion of development of various forms of self-governance is determined.
Key words: motives, rural settlements, migration, deprivation, place of residence.
