Problems and Prospects of the Use
Section: HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
Language: Ukrainian
Abstract: The human development as a scientific category is the multifold and difficult enough object of research. The
analysis of the state and trends of the human development trends at the regions of Ukraine during 2004–2013
shows the preservation of considerable interregional differentiation according to the basic descriptions of human
development, and also finds out the row of negative inner regional features. The typology as a scientific method
is offered taking into account the discovered tendencies and for the purpose of the reasonable identification of the
types of regions by the dynamics and the descriptions of human development. The methodological approaches to
the typology of regional human development are outlined particularly taking into account their functional and
procedural features. The attempts of exposure of the types of regional human development are carried out according
to the signs of progress. It is suggested to identify such basic types of human development in the regions
of Ukraine as the balanced type, the inertial type, the asymmetric type, the atypical type. The scheme for using
of the results of the research is built for the development of regional policy.
Key words: regional human development, index of regional human development, typology of human development,
regional policy, instruments for policy.
