EVALUATION OF CURRENT MEASURES TO SUPPORT FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN IN UKRAINE

Abstract: The article assesses the effects of the modern socio-demographic policy of Ukraine in support of families with children on the childbearing activity of the population, identifies the reasons for the low motivation to having child in young Ukrainian families, substantiates possible directions of providing basic capabilities for realization of childbearing potential of the nation. Using statistical research methods comparisons were made of the amount of necessary direct and opportunity costs for the upbringing and development of a child and the actual capabilities of the average Ukrainian family. According to the research results conclusions were made regarding the advisability of partial realization of state investment in the education and development of children aged 3 to 18 years.
